If you report abuse

  • You can report without giving your name, phone number or email.
  • We do not store your IP address with a report. We keep only a scrambled value to stop spam, and it expires within hours.
  • The details you write, the messages we exchange, and your file names are encrypted before they are saved.
  • Photos are re-saved without their hidden location and device information. Evidence files are kept in a private folder that cannot be opened from the internet.
  • Only staff who have been given access to reports can read them. Every time a report is opened, the staff account and time are logged.
  • We store your tracking code only in scrambled form. We cannot look it up for you. If you lose it, we cannot find your report, so keep it safe.

Protect yourself on your device

Our pages do not show up in your browser’s cached pages, but your browsing history may still show that you visited. Use the Quick exit button at the top right of reporting pages, or press Esc twice, to leave at once. Using a private or incognito window, or a device that only you use, is safer still.

Other forms on this site

When you volunteer, propose a partnership, RSVP for an event, donate or write to us, we keep what you type so we can reply and run the programme. Volunteers appear on our public volunteers page only if they tick the box that allows it.

Cookies

We use one session cookie to keep forms secure and, for staff, to keep them signed in. We use a small browser setting to remember light or dark mode. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Payments

Card payments are handled by Paystack. We never see or store your card number. We keep your name, email, amount and payment reference.

Questions

Write to contact@unavay.org to ask what we hold about you or to ask us to delete it. We cannot find anonymous reports without the tracking code.
